Man's shirt woven from virgin wool
This man's shirt, Kutuni in Wixárika, was woven from virgin wool on a back-strap loom. It is a rare example of the shirts worn by men in ancient times, before the use of cotton muslin became popular in the 20th century. By the 1970's it was extremely rare to see men wearing a wollen shirt and few weavers were making them. This shirt was woven by María Sandoval from the community of Tuapurie.
